Job Description

The laboratory technician has responsibility of preparing and organizing the materials needed for undergraduate/graduate chemistry laboratories courses, in close collaboration with the lab instructor and the teaching assistant.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Organize laboratory for chemistry courses
2. Prepare materials needed in chemistry lab courses in undergraduate level
3. Enforce laboratory safety procedures
4. Contribute to various committees at the Program
5. Identify staff training needs and plan for appropriate training to be provided in a timely manner.
6. Perform other tasks and duties that may be occasionally required in order to meet the requirements of the role and the aims of the University.
Qualifications
1. BSc. degree in Chemistry from a recognized/ranked University
2. Experience as Lab Technician in Chemistry laboratories at university-level.
3. Strong knowledge of all Chemistry sub-disciplines at the undergraduate level
4. Knowledge of laboratory procedures and laboratory safety regulations.
5. Experience in the use of laboratory instrumentation commonly used in undergraduate laboratories at all levels
6. Ability to communicate in English and ability to communicate in Arabic is an advantage.
